Please note that our BFL yarn bases will lean slightly warmer in tone due to the natural yellow undertones inherent to Blue Faced Leicester wool.

Please do not add any other products to your Yarn Countdown order (except undyed add-ons), as these items will ship on their own.

This listing is for add-on to the 2026 countdown calendar ONLY. Estimated shipping date is late October-early November. To preorder undyed yarn separately, please choose from these options.

Care

We recommend gentle hand-washing with a mild wool wash (Eucalan is our favourite!) and laying flat to dry. Avoid excessive agitation and heat (unless you're felting intentionally!). Thoughtful care and proper storage will help preserve the beauty and longevity of your yarn and finished pieces.

Hand-Dyed Yarn Tips

To keep your yarn looking its best, store it out of direct sunlight as prolonged exposure can cause sun bleaching and fade the colours.

While all yarn is washed in our studio after dyeing, some colour bleeding may still occur. Swatching and blocking with a gentle wool wash is recommended, especially for colourwork projects. If needed, pre-washing yarn or blocking finished garments in cold water with a splash of vinegar can help reduce any colour bleeding.

Hand-dyed yarns vary naturally from skein to skein. To create a more even fabric and avoid pooling, we recommend alternating skeins throughout your project.
