Description
NEW PENZANCE
A Sturdy, Weathered Green—The Kind That Knows Its Way Through the Wilderness.
A deep, earthy olive green, this colour reflects the rugged charm of New Penzance—dense forests, mossy trails, and scout tents pitched under overcast skies. Grounded yet full of quiet adventure, it’s a shade for those who feel most at home in the great outdoors.
Dyed on our bestselling Falkland DK base:
Soft yet durable, this DK-weight yarn is perfect for sweaters, accessories, and textured knits that need a little extra strength. At 21–23 microns, it’s gentle on the hands while still being resilient. Slightly on the heavier side for a DK, it has a lovely springy feel and excellent stitch definition, making garments that will hold their shape beautifully.

Care
We recommend gentle hand-washing with a mild wool wash (Eucalan is our favourite!) and laying flat to dry. Avoid excessive agitation and heat (unless you're felting intentionally!). Thoughtful care and proper storage will help preserve the beauty and longevity of your yarn and finished pieces.
Hand-Dyed Yarn Tips
To keep your yarn looking its best, store it out of direct sunlight as prolonged exposure can cause sun bleaching and fade the colours.
While all yarn is washed in our studio after dyeing, some colour bleeding may still occur. Swatching and blocking with a gentle wool wash is recommended, especially for colourwork projects. If needed, pre-washing yarn or blocking finished garments in cold water with a splash of vinegar can help reduce any colour bleeding.
Hand-dyed yarns vary naturally from skein to skein. To create a more even fabric and avoid pooling, we recommend alternating skeins throughout your project.
