OLIVE MY LOVE

A Complex Olive Green — Where Warmth Meets Whispered Coolness

Olive My Love sits in the balance, shifting between earthy warmth and subtle cool shadow. It’s the green that moves with the light, sometimes golden and sunlit, other times deep and foresty. This versatile shade invites exploration, pairing effortlessly with both warm tones and cooler neutrals.

Hand-dyed on our bestselling Falkland DK yarn base:

Soft yet durable, this lofty DK-weight yarn is perfect for sweaters, accessories, and textured knits that need a little extra strength. At 21–23 microns, it’s gentle on the hands while still being resilient. Slightly on the heavier side for a DK, it has a lovely springy feel and excellent stitch definition, making garments that will hold their shape beautifully.

**Oopsie skeins refer to small inconsistencies with dye: there may be lighter or darker patches, or some small speckles where the dye has unintentionally broken.

Care

We recommend gentle hand-washing with a mild wool wash (Eucalan is our favourite!) and laying flat to dry. Avoid excessive agitation and heat (unless you're felting intentionally!). Thoughtful care and proper storage will help preserve the beauty and longevity of your yarn and finished pieces.

Hand-Dyed Yarn Tips

To keep your yarn looking its best, store it out of direct sunlight as prolonged exposure can cause sun bleaching and fade the colours.

While all yarn is washed in our studio after dyeing, some colour bleeding may still occur. Swatching and blocking with a gentle wool wash is recommended, especially for colourwork projects. If needed, pre-washing yarn or blocking finished garments in cold water with a splash of vinegar can help reduce any colour bleeding.

Hand-dyed yarns vary naturally from skein to skein. To create a more even fabric and avoid pooling, we recommend alternating skeins throughout your project.
