Colourway Description

A dreamy, dusty blue inspired by my favourite summer flowers and the sparkling summer sea. This colour may have slightly more variation in tone compared to other colours, creating a beautiful tonal effect: some spots may be lighter, some may be darker.

Yarn Base Description

Hand-dyed on our bestselling Suri Lace yarn base:

NON-SUPERWASH

65% baby Suri alpaca, 35% silk

320m per 50g skein

Lace weight, single ply

Milled in Canada

Soft and very warm, this lace-weight suri alpaca is a gentle, luxurious alternative to mohair. It drapes beautifully and adds warmth without bulk, making it perfect for lightweight pieces, airy lace, and garments that benefit from a soft halo. Versatile in use, it can be held single, double, or even triple for suri-only projects, or paired with a strand of wool for added halo and gentle reinforcement, helping your knits wear beautifully over time.

Care

We recommend gentle hand-washing with a mild wool wash (Eucalan is our favourite!) and laying flat to dry. Avoid excessive agitation and heat (unless you're felting intentionally!). Thoughtful care and proper storage will help preserve the beauty and longevity of your yarn and finished pieces.

Hand-Dyed Yarn Tips

To keep your yarn looking its best, store it out of direct sunlight as prolonged exposure can cause sun bleaching and fade the colours.

While all yarn is washed in our studio after dyeing, some colour bleeding may still occur. Swatching and blocking with a gentle wool wash is recommended, especially for colourwork projects. If needed, pre-washing yarn or blocking finished garments in cold water with a splash of vinegar can help reduce any colour bleeding.

Hand-dyed yarns vary naturally from skein to skein. To create a more even fabric and avoid pooling, we recommend alternating skeins throughout your project.
